About CMET
Policy-driven, implementation-focused research supporting India’s energy transition.
Centre for Mission on Energy Transition (CMET) is a policy-driven, implementation-focused research centre anchored at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, India, working to enable India’s transition towards a reliable, resilient, and low-carbon power system.
CMET has been established in collaboration with the New and Renewable Energy Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, to address emerging challenges in renewable energy integration, grid stability, and transmission planning.
CMET operates at the critical interface of government, utilities, industry and academia, translating advanced power system research into actionable solutions and on-ground implementation.
Our work spans the full spectrum—from high-impact technical assessment studies to field-level pilot demonstrations, ensuring that policy recommendations are not only theoretically sound but also practically viable.
